18And Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.”
The reaction of Zechariah is one of doubt and disbelief, and thus he asks for a sign or some form of proof. Was this reaction sinful? Perhaps in some ways but we do well to recall that Abraham, Gideon, and Hezekiah did the same before him.
