Verse 6 turns the reader’s attention back to the worshipper in Leviticus 1:5. The worshipper also needed to skin the animal and cut it into pieces. The reason for cutting the animal into pieces was so that it could more easily be consumed on the altar. The only exception to this practice was the Passover lamb (Exodus 12:10).
