The mother church and the daughter church are connected by one Spirit! The new congregation is recognized by the apostles in Jerusalem! The Spirit unites Messiah-confessing Jews and Samaritans.
There are not two separate tracks at the beginning of mission endeavours: a Jewish-Christian track, separate from a Samaritan-Christian track (and later a heathen-Christian track). The Spirit prevents a divided church from the beginning. He rises above the differences of race and culture, and creates a special unity, as we read about in 1 Corinthians 12:13: For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
It no longer matters if you are Samaritan or Jew, but that you are in Christ (Galatians 3:28). How important is this event for today: if Jews and Samaritans fit through one door—which is Christ!—how much more do we expect then also for today that the Spirit unites different groups within the church?
