It is not only truth from God that pushes us to prayer, but it is also this aspect of truth about God that pulls us into prayer…I think what we need to say here is, how you pray. Your praying in faith will depend upon the view you have of God. How you think about God will affect how you pray. And if you notice Habakkuk here in Habakkuk 3:3–15, he has some God. This is rather unusual from our standpoint. We are not used to poetry, and especially poetry like this. But that is what Habakkuk has; and what kind of God then does Habakkuk have? Well, he is not dull! Whether you understand every part of Habakkuk 3:3–15, you cannot say God is dull!...Yahweh is the warrior, the Invincible Warrior who goes forward to destroy the enemies of his people in order to save his people. That is basically what Habakkuk is saying in this whole section. In what a lively way he says it. You see, as you look at this, and this is what I want you to see...you cannot help but see that Habakkuk seems to find pleasure in describing God. He relishes this…He gets great pleasure out of God himself. He enjoys God. God fascinates him and that pulls him to prayer and praise. The stimulus to prayer.1

3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His splendor covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
