The reaction of Jephthah’s daughter to what has unfolded is markedly different from Jephthah’s. Unlike him, she does not think so much of the impact of the vow on herself. And she does not come with accusations against Jephthah. Instead, with sensitivity and submissiveness, she responds only with a call for him to fulfil his vow.
36 And she said to him, “My father, you have opened your mouth to the LORD; do to me according to what has gone out of your mouth, now that the LORD has avenged you on your enemies, on the Ammonites.”
