Joshua 2 emphasizes the confession of Rahab. She tells the spies all the information they need to know: the Lord is keeping his promises, all of Canaan is terrified, and they will inherit the land. This chapter is also one of the most dramatic examples of grace in the Old Testament. Rahab, a Canaanite prostitute, is saved because she comes to faith in the Lord and pleads for mercy in the face of divine judgment.
1 And Joshua the son of Nun sent two men secretly from Shittim as spies, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” And they went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab and lodged there.
