Joel announces events that will stir up all of creation! A day will come when God destroys the entire universe. This is the ultimate fulfillment of the day of the Lord
(see Joel 1:15). Who will survive that day? You may become terrified when you read what will happen on that day! As New Testament Christians, we recognize in this the day of Christ’s return. What a terrible, frightening day that will be. That day still has not come, but it is coming as surely as the day of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit has come.
