An ephah was one of the most common dry measurements in Israel (see also Leviticus 19:36). This would have been equivalent to about twenty-two litres. The priest was only required to present one-tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a grain offering. This would have been about two litres. Half of it was offered in the morning while the other half was offering in the evening.
20 “This is the offering that Aaron and his sons shall offer to the LORD on the day when he is anointed: a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half in the evening.
