Why was the grain offering required in the morning and the evening?

Leviticus 6:20 (ESV)

20 “This is the offering that Aaron and his sons shall offer to the LORD on the day when he is anointed: a tenth of an ephah of fine flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half in the evening.

The priests served as the mediators between the Israelites and the Lord. In light of this unique role, a higher degree of loyalty was required by them. The morning and evening offering symbolized a continuous renewal of loyalty to the Lord.
