Luke 24 gives details of the proofs that Jesus gave to the apostles that he was alive. Specifically the empty tomb and the disciples’ meeting with Jesus are mentioned. Other proofs of the resurrection are also possibly in view (see Matthew 28:9–10, Matthew 28:16–20; Mark 16:9–11, Mark 16:12, Mark 16:14–18; John 20:11–18, John 20:19–23, John 20:24–29; John 21:1–23; 1 Corinthians 15:5–7).
3 He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
