What does it mean for the promise to be for all whom the Lord our God will call to himself?

Acts 2:39 (ESV)

39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

The promise of forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ is a promise that will be embraced by all those whom God has chosen to eternal life (Ephesians 1:4).1
