The closing verse of this Psalm connects with the beginning again: Lord, answer our prayers by giving victory to the king. So, the psalm does not end with the celebration of the victory, but with a prayer to receive the victory.
Perhaps we may read in this the encouragement to pray continually—to pray that we ourselves may also obtain the victory in the war against those who try to draw us away from the faith (see also Luke 18:1–8).
9 O LORD, save the king! May he answer us when we call.
