Often the testimony is equated with the covenant itself (Exodus 31:18, Deuteronomy 9:11). It can also be used to describe the tabernacle (Exodus 38:21; Numbers 1:50, Numbers 1:53) and the ark (Exodus 25:22; Exodus 26:33–34; Exodus 30:36; Leviticus 16:13). Sometimes it refers to the two tablets of stone that were in the ark (Exodus 25:21; Exodus 40:20).1
