Solomon’s Portico is likely the place where believers held daily meetings (see Acts 5:12). It was a 200m long and 15m wide open colonnade with a roof over the hall to a rear wall. Situated on the eastern side of the temple complex, the colonnade provided shade and shelter and served as an ideal meeting point for political, religious, and commercial activities.1 Since the people in the temple court did not see the miracle itself but saw the man walking next to Peter and John, they assume that the apostles had something to do with his healing which is why they come over to them.
11 While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon’s.
