Moses composed Psalm 90 as a prayer to God somewhere in the desert between Egypt and Canaan. He was probably well over 100 years old at the time. Note that he used the first-person plural, because he saw himself as a spokesman for his people, and also felt the bond of unity with previous generations of Israel. They had been wandering for so long—exposed to many dangers. They had been oppressed, abused, and exploited. And yet, the Lord was always there for them to take refuge.
1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.
