Note that this psalm was not intended to be applied to all people in all situations. Psalm 90 comes after the events at Mount Horeb, and after Israel rebelled at the gates of the Promised Land. For that reason, they were sent back into the wilderness, where so many lost their lives. They were chastised heavily by the wrath of God.
