Moses was perhaps alluding to the unforgettable morning when the Israelites’ campground lay covered in manna. Without God providing for his people, supplying them with fresh food would have been an insurmountable problem for Moses. Whatever Moses had in mind, he knew that the people needed the joy and kindness of God, and he was praying for Yahweh to return and bring hope instead of the spectre of death.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
