  2. Exposition

Upon whom was the grace and what does it mean?

Acts 4:33 (ESV)

33 And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

The grace could be a reference to how the Spirit used the words of the apostles to bring people to faith, the fact that the church as a whole enjoyed the favour of the common people,1 or an expression of God’s favour resting upon the church community (see Exodus 3:21; Exodus 11:3; Exodus 12:36; Exodus 33:12–13).2
