Acts 2:37–41 (ESV)

37 Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

Psalm 2

Psalm 2:1–12 would be especially appropriate for singing before your sermon seeing as it provides us with two responses to God’s Messiah: a negative response that results in judgment and a positive response that results in safety. This song will help church members to understand why the crowd was cut to the heart when they heard what they had done to the Messiah.

Psalm 22

Tying in to the theme of God’s promise being for the Jews, their descendants, and those far off, it would be a good idea to sing Psalm 22:27–31 after your sermon.
