Psalm 118

Psalm 118:1–29 is quoted by Peter in his speech before the Sanhedrin. This would be a good song to sing before and after your sermon. Before your sermon (perhaps at the beginning of the worship service) you can sing from the first section of the Psalm and explain how it presents God’s King in a position of need where it is not clear if he will survive and be victorious. After your sermon, you can sing the final section of the Psalm which affirms that the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
