God knows our names. He knows who we are. Isaiah 43:1, Isaiah 43:3 reads, But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine…For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
(Isaiah 40-55 was written in the first place to comfort the Israelites in the Babylonian exile, a new slavery. God does not abandon them but shall redeem them. Often God reminds or alludes to the exodus.) As good Shepherd Jesus knows us (John 10:14). He makes lost sheep to listen to his voice. And so we are called that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light
(1 Peter 2:9).
4 When the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”
