1 Kings 16:21–22 (ESV)

21 Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts. Half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.

It is no wonder that there arose division within the people after this bizarre week. Two parties opposed each other. Tibni and Ginath are unknown names. A kind of civil war ensued in which Omri’s henchmen win. Tibni, Ginath’s son, is killed and Omri became king. In Judah, King Asa was still on the throne.
