Satan can only hate, lie, and accuse. He hates the pleasure that God has in Job and he hates the idea that a human being can truly bring honour to God. Hence his suggestion that God take away Job’s blessings and see how Job curses him in return. In these words we find a double accusation: (1) Job is selfish in his uprightness; and (2) the Lord is lying when he calls Job upright.
11 But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.”
