The poet now poses a concrete question for the first time. Oh God, grant me justice. Help me quickly. Save me from the clutches of unfaithful people. He himself feels his powerlessness. At the same time, he is confident that God can save him.
Apparently, his enemies block him from going to the temple in Jerusalem (Psalm 43:2, Psalm 43:4). Oh, he so badly wants to be there. He says this so plainly in Psalm 43:3. This desire gives him the courage to plead vigorously for God’s intervention. Anyone who makes such an appeal to God touches a nerve with him.
1 Vindicate me, O God, and defend my cause against an ungodly people, from the deceitful and unjust man deliver me!
