1. Mark 1:20 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What is the meant by the fact that Jesus called James and John “immediately”?

Mark 1:20 (ESV)

20 And immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and followed him.

This does not mean that Jesus began to call them immediately when he saw them, but that he calls them to follow him straight out and without delay.1
