This is the first mention of the tabernacle in the book of Leviticus. It was consecrated through the use of anointing oil. The recipe for the anointing oil was given in Exodus 30:23. Throughout the Old testament both people as well as things could be consecrated with anointing oil. In so doing, Aaron and the tabernacle were set apart for the distinct service of the Lord.
10 Then Moses took the anointing oil and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and consecrated them.
