The normal procedure for the sin offering was outlined in Leviticus 4:1–12. It is interesting to note that Aaron does not sprinkle the blood in front of the curtain inside the sanctuary seven times. This may be due to the fact that he has not yet entered into the most holy place.
8 So Aaron drew near to the altar and killed the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.
