What was the history of these nations’ taunts toward God’s people?

Zephaniah 2:8 (ESV)

8 “I have heard the taunts of Moab and the revilings of the Ammonites, how they have taunted my people and made boasts against their territory.

Moab and Ammon had a long history of oppressing Israel (Moab: Numbers 22:1 – 24:25; Deuteronomy 23:3–4; Judges 3:12–30; 1 Samuel 11:1–11; 1 Samuel 12:9; 2 Kings 3:5–27; 2 Kings 13:20; 2 Chronicles 20:1; Ammon: 2 Chronicles 20:1; 2 Samuel 10:1 – 11:1; Nehemiah 2:10, Nehemiah 2:19; Nehemiah 4:3, Nehemiah 4:7). The prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel would draw special attention to the arrogance of these nations as they would delight in the destruction of others (Isaiah 16:6; Jeremiah 48:27–30; Ezekiel 25:3, Ezekiel 25:6).
