Moses made a conscious decision to reconnect with the people of Israel.1 The idea of visiting suggests that he had the intention of intervening on their behalf (see also Luke 1:68).2 He hoped that his brothers would realize they have a friend and ally in an influential position through whom God would bring them salvation (deliverance from their plight as slaves).3
