What does it mean that the Ethiopian was rejoicing?
Acts 8:39 (ESV)
39And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing.
The rejoicing of the eunuch implies the reality of his faith in Jesus Christ.1 Indeed, joy is a proper response to and fruit of the reception of the gospel (Romans 5:1–5).2
39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing.
