2 Kings 24:10 (ESV)

10 At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up to Jerusalem, and the city was besieged.

The captivity to Babylon was accomplished in three phases. For the first phase see 2 Kings 24:1. The third phase, the destruction of Jerusalem, is described from 2 Kings 25:8–21. This verse (2 Kings 24:10) describes the beginning of the second phase. The writer uses the same word for siege that is used several times in Deuteronomy 28:52–57. As if the writer wants to say, This is the execution of the warning given in Deuteronomy.

God keeps his Word when it comes to promises and deliverance, but certainly also when it comes to warning and judgment.
