About the change of name see 2 Kings 23:31 and 2 Kings 23:34. Mattaniah/Zedekiah was an uncle of Jehoiachin. In 2 Chronicles 36:10 we must read as follow: Nebuchadnezzar appointed the brother of Jehoiachin’s father, Zedekiah, as king
(see also Jeremiah 37:1).
17 And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah, Jehoiachin’s uncle, king in his place, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
