As a sign of submission and acknowledgement of God's power, the Nubians would bring gifts to Zion. Isaiah 45:14, Zephaniah 3:10, and Psalm 68:32 also tell of the inhabitants of Cush bringing special tributes to Zion. What is being said about one nation would one day be true for all the nations (Isaiah 2:1–4; Isaiah 66:20).
7 At that time tribute will be brought to the LORD of hosts from a people tall and smooth, from a people feared near and far, a nation mighty and conquering, whose land the rivers divide,to Mount Zion, the place of the name of the LORD of hosts.
