Genesis 13:1–18 (ESV)

1 So Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the Negeb.

The text is a warning against relying solely on our own senses and knowledge in making decisions. The attraction of affluence can blind people to God’s guidance and promises (Proverbs 14:12; Proverbs 16:25).
