1. Judges 13:23 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

To what does “all these things” refer?

Judges 13:23 (ESV)

23 But his wife said to him, “If the LORD had meant to kill us, he would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering at our hands, or shown us all these things, or now announced to us such things as these.”

“All these things” refers to everything the Lord permitted Manoah and his wife to see and experience, particularly the “very awesome” and “wonderful” (Judges 13:6, Judges 13:18) appearance of the messenger and the fire that consumed the offering and took the messenger to heaven.
