Zorah and Eshtaol lay close to one another, twelve kilometres west of Jerusalem. They were situated in the low hills next to the coastal plain, on the northern flank of the Valley of Sorek. Originally, they were in the allotment of the tribe of Dan (Joshua 19:41; Judges 18:2, Judges 18:8, Judges 18:11).
