What is the place to which the LORD brought their forefathers?

1 Samuel 12:8 (ESV)

8 When Jacob went into Egypt, and the Egyptians oppressed them, then your fathers cried out to the LORD and the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your fathers out of Egypt and made them dwell in this place.

The Lord assumed kingship over Israel at Sinai (Deuteronomy 33:5) and led them into Canaan with the intention of ruling over them (Exodus 15:18).1
