The Lord is in complete control over all aspects of creation, also over our economic conditions, and those things that bring economic hardship. When we experience financial adversity, we do well to acknowledge that this also comes from the hand of the Lord. We must not, as we are inclined, disconnect our financial well-being from the providence of God. Poverty and prosperity also come from God’s hand, and God uses our economic conditions to fulfil his plan for us.
7 From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the LORD of hosts. But you say, ‘How shall we return?’
