This miracle is only accounted for in Mark’s Gospel. However, Matthew 15:29–31 seems to give a brief summary of this trip that Jesus took into Gentile country in the region of the Sea of Galilee. Matthew speaks of Jesus healing great crowds
of the lame, blind, crippled, mute, and many others.
This might suggest that many other healings and miracles took place in the Decapolis and that Mark’s story is only one of them.
31 Then he returned from the region of Tyre and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee, in the region of the Decapolis.
