Sharing with others what God has done for you

Malachi 4:2 (ESV)

2 But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.

Christians who experience many blessings in this life often do not experience the joy of God’s grace as much as those who have experienced suffering and sorrow in this life. Similarly, Christians who are new to the faith, or Christians who have fallen and who have subsequently been restored to the faith, often seem more jubilant as they speak of their salvation when compared to Christians of long standing. As the saying goes, familiarity breeds contempt. We become accustomed to things we have long enjoyed. Christians who have enjoyed health and prosperity can be refreshed spiritually by hearing the testimony of those who have gone through trials and troubles in life and have experienced anew the blessings of the Lord. Christians of long standing can be reminded anew of the amazing character of God’s grace by speaking with new Christians or fallen Christians who have been restored. Although the worship service is not the place for such personal testimonies, we do well to share with others what great things God has done (Psalm 66:16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will tell what he has done for my soul).
