In proclaiming the gospel the disciples were not allowed to receive payment. The core of the gospel is grace—God’s free gift. The people receive forgiveness from God because he wants to give it to them—not because they somehow deserve it or have persuaded God to promise it to them. It is God’s own choice and his will for you to share in his kingdom. To believe is to receive from God:
He wants to give them a place in his kingdom of his own accord (his choice).
He decides to make them hear the gospel and gives them the most precious promises of his own accord.
He brings them to faith in his words.
The fact that the people received it this way has to be clear in the disciples' words and actions.
