This verse shows the compassion of the Lord toward people who are weak; he helps them.
This theme about the care of the Lord appears more often in this Psalm from here on. With it, David makes clear that the help goes toward people who honour and love him (Psalm 145:19–20a); but those who do not live for the Lord will be disciplined (Psalm 145:20).
