The narrative mentions for the first time that Samson talked with the woman he plans to marry. It is possible, in light of Judges 14:1 which had simply mentioned that Samson saw
the Philistine woman, that this is the first time he actually spoke with her.1
7 Then he went down and talked with the woman, and she was right in Samson’s eyes.
