7 And Saul defeated the Amalekites from Havilah as far as Shur, which is east of Egypt.

The location of Havilah is unknown, whilst Shur refers to the wilderness region in the northwest Sinai on the eastern border of Egypt. A large area to the south of Israel up to the border of Egypt is in view.1
