What does it mean that the bitterness of death is past?
1 Samuel 15:32 (ESV)
32Then Samuel said, “Bring here to me Agag the king of the Amalekites.” And Agag came to him cheerfully. Agag said, “Surely the bitterness of death is past.”
Most likely Agag thought that the danger of death had passed and that he would be spared and kept as a prisoner until the end of his life.
