How might the mention of killing “a thousand men” be a subtle condemnation of Judah?

Judges 15:16 (ESV)

16 And Samson said, “With the jawbone of a donkey, heaps upon heaps, with the jawbone of a donkey have I struck down a thousand men.”

It is possible that Samson’s mention of killing a thousand men might be a condemnation of Judah’s cowardice. What could three thousand Judahites have done to the enemy if they had rallied by faith? Of course, Samson is chief to blame for not being the leader he ought to have been
