The devils have faith; the demons have faith. The devil believes in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He has more faith than the liberal theologian who says that there was no resurrection of Jesus Christ. The devil has an accurate theological acumen; he understands the gospel very clearly. He has faith, but James says that that faith does not save him. The devil has faith and it actually affects him; James says, he trembles, he knows his end—the judgment to come. So do not say, I have faith, [because even] the devil has faith, but it does not profit the devil at all.1
