How did David’s brothers respond to his anointing?
1 Samuel 16:13 (ESV)
13Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the LORD rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.
We are not told how David’s brothers responded. They were likely surprised and curious as to the purpose of the anointing. They would have known it was for a specific purpose1 but not what that purpose was (see 1 Samuel 17:28).2
