The news of Nineveh’s defeat is going to spread quickly and widely, and it will be received with joy and celebration. Just about every nation has experienced evil and destruction at the hands of Nineveh, and so everyone will rejoice at the justice that has finally reached them. The Lord has the final say. Vengeance is mine, says the Lord.
In the end, all evil will be judged. All injustice will be put right.
19 There is no easing your hurt; your wound is grievous. All who hear the news about you clap their hands over you. For upon whom has not come your unceasing evil?
