The course of the sun encompasses the entire heavens, and her rays reach into every corner of the earth. Certainly, those living in the Middle East would feel the sun’s power in summer. The sun could be scorching, as David chronicles in Psalm 32:4 my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.
The description of the sun in particular helps us to see the loftiness of the Creator. No one can resist him. His eyes reach the recesses of our heart. We have reverence for God’s eternal power and godliness, which comes to us in his handiwork which is being clearly perceived in creation (Romans 1:20).
6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens, and its circuit to the end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
